Passport to Dance

Ages 6-12 years old

Passport to Dance is a unique class for children to experience Social Studies in a creative and hands-on way. Each week, students will learn about a new country or festival through cultural dance, stories, music, instruments, and traditional dress! Each student will get their passport stamped at the end of each class from that day's travels!

Traditional Folkdances are an important part of most cultures around the world. In this class, students learn fun, simple folkdances as well as how the culture, history, and lifestyle of the people are reflected in the traditional clothing, stories, and dances. Each week a new country will be represented based on festivals and celebrations happening in that part of the world during that time of year, September-May. Each student will receive a "Passport" which will get stamped weekly from the country of focus!  Folkdances are a great way to experience history and celebrate the cultures of the world! ​​
